Wow... how many years passed without touching this blog? Too many! I am looking back and my posts are so scattered, no focus, no theme. I am returning to blogger shortly! Ideas: many. Theme: one. Become a better me. This is a blog to track my many thoughts on the go!
Cheers,
-Ideopolis
Ideopolis - "Idea" and "Polis". "Idea" originates from the greek "ιδέα" which refers to what is formed, represented or actually exists in the mind as a product of mental activity. It may refer to thoughts of any degree of seriousness or triviality... "Polis" is the greek "πόλις" which refers to what was conventionally translated as "city-states" of ancient Greece... and generally refers to a self-sufficient, self-governed unity... Welcome to Ideopolis, welcome to a piece of my world.

Random Facts of the day
Random things I've read from time to time that I decided to share with you today!
I found these random facts on several websites today. Hope you enjoyed it!
- The average speed of a city bus is 25 miles per hour. But apparently the average speed of ejaculation is 28 miles per hour! (...Wonder why women hate taking those slow buses all the time!)
- Abraham Lincoln faces to the right of a penny while all other presidents face to the left on U.S. coins. (I wonder why...!)
- Biochemically speaking, sex is no different from eating chocolate in large quantities. (Eating chocolate VS. having sex? To all the single ladies out there, look at the bright side... at least it won't get you pregnant!).
- But listen to this one: The average chocolate bar contains on average 8 insect feet. (Eeeww gross!!! Or maybe the insect feet is the secret ingredient that causes female addiction to it..? I am just saying!)
- Male bats have the highest rate of homosexuality of any mammal. (Now "gay-dar" makes total sense to me!)
- No piece of paper can be folded in more than 7 times. (And I bet half of those reading this are already looking for a piece of paper to try it out!)
- Males, on average, think about sex every 7 seconds. (Why did I think it was less than that for some reason!??)
- Semen contains zinc and calcium, both of which are proven to prevent tooth decay. (Why do I feel this was written by a male....?)
- Average number of calories in a teaspoon of semen= 7. Average number of calories in a can of Dr. Pepper= 150. (Whatever!!! I smell another male wrote this one as well. Hahaha)
- 85% of men who die of heart attacks during intercourse, are found to have been cheating on their wives. (Call it coincidence, I call it justice. Something to think about next time you want to cheat.)
- Every day 200 million couples have sex, 400,000 babies are born and 140,000 people die.
- The average bra size today is 36C. Ten years ago it was 34B.
- The most children born to one woman was 69, she was a peasant who lived a 40 year life, in which she had 16 twins, 7 triplets, and 4 quadruplets. (Ouchhh I am hurting only by writing this..!)
- Largest penis in the animal kingdom: 11 feet (blue whale). In order to be able to imagine how big that is, just read this: Height from court floor to the rim of a basketball hoop: 10 feet. (Ohhh that lucky female blue whale!!!)
- 35% of the people who put up personal ads for dating, are already married.
- The microwave was invented after a researcher walked by a radar tube and a chocolate bar he had in his pocket, melted. (I am telling you, it's one of the countless miracles of chocolate)
I found these random facts on several websites today. Hope you enjoyed it!

Is enough ever enough?
It's 4:15am and I am still awake.
Yup, I think I might be suffering from some serious insomnia here.
Today was so unproductive.... I took the day off, so no work for me. I woke up at 1pm then went to register for some summer courses and then....surprise!! "Mister S." calls me to ask me to meet up.... wow. After Wednesdays explosion, now he wants to meet up.... Sunday all day he was trying to reach me, but I only answered a few hours later... Today was pretty cool though, he came and picked me up and drove to Centropolis at a cafe there... Had a serious conversation (finally!) after a long time...
Long story short: I don't know how I feel anymore. I don't know if I want to risk my time/feelings anymore... So, we gonna take it slow and see how it goes... It pretty sucks though, 'cause I know he feels that if he "loses me" he will not forgive himself... He said I've been the best he ever had (Drake's song plays here tan tan tan) no seriously, he said it, his friends said it, and so on...
Honestly... I don't even think I should give this a chance again. Not because I wanna take "revenge" or to piss him off or anything like that. Pride comes second if there's real love. I think I shouldn't give it a chance cause I have doubts if people do actually change, if they can REALLY change. Does it happen? Old habits, die hard, they say. So, why should I go through this....when I know I can have so much better.... Just for the sake of love? Or love is what matters....? When two people love each other, but they don't seem to get it together, when you get to that point when enough is enough?

Ain't no sunshine
Yes yes, it's an old song but I recently heard it again in a Youtube video which brought back lots of memories.... So here it is.
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's always gone too long
Anytime she goes away
Wonder this time where she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away
And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
.....
Hey, I ought to leave the yound thing alone
But ain't no sunshine when she's gone,
Only darkness everyday
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home anytime
She goes away
Anytime she goes away
I know, I know, I know, I know
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's always gone too long
Anytime she goes away
Wonder this time where she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay

The souls journey after death
I slept most of the day yesterday. It was a weird feeling the night before though, because I couldn't sleep and until 7.30am I was sitting on my b**t doing nothing... Until I found out my grandma had passed away... I guess that's why I couldn't sleep. So then I got up, put on some clothes and decided to visit all four Christian Orthodox churches there are in the city (well, the neighborhoods close to me) to light a candle and pray for her soul.
So I did visit the churches to light a candle, but I only found 2 of them open, the third one was closed and the 4th one I couldn't find.
According to the Greek Orthodox tradition, after the death of someone, their soul wanders around for 3 days and seeks its way to heaven, assisted by its guardian angel and other angels as well.
Alright, the above might sound weird or 'silly' to those not familiar with the tradition, but I still feel the need to share the tradition I believe into, with 'the rest of the world'.
So on the third day, the soul goes through encounters with the 20 "toll-houses", groups of demons that accuse the soul of sins they tempted it commit. The guardian angel then speaks for the soul and rebattles the demons by talking about the good deeds, merciful acts and repent (etc) the soul had showed. If the soul has not 'enough' good deeds or repent for its sins, then the demons drag the soul to hell... It sounds 'dramatic', I can smell you're already thinking this by now...!
It is also very interesting to read what the Orthodox tradition has to say about the "toll-houses"... But if you think about it, all these 20 toll-houses are things we were taught in life to not do... Here it is:
After reading all these, one might wonder... Alright, I just read everything, but my grandma/mother/brother/friend/beloved one has departed and I don't think there's much I can do... I was only reminded to live 'accordingly' so that to avoid being 'tortured by the demons when I pass away"... What is left for us to do back here for the ones who passed away anyways? The one and very important thing us back here can do is: to pray for them. So simple, yet so important. Especially the first few days after our beloved one's death. But the rest 37 days are crucial as well, according to the orthodox tradition, since the soul wanders around for 40 days...
Another thing along with prayer, is good deeds done in their memory, such as contributions or alms to the church. Our prayers and good deeds in their memory are very beneficial for the soul of our beloved person. The soul of the deceased is proceeding on its path to the eternal habitations. The soul senses our prayers and commemoration offered for it and is grateful to those who make them and is spiritually close to them. Ask God to show and grand mercy to the soul of our beloved ones. Focus on the good deeds/behaviors/words/attributes/habits the person had while still alive.
Our soul continues to live on. Its the center of all our energies and thoughts, its the center of our very existence. After the separation from the body, our soul continues to live, to exist, to have awareness.
Thank you for reading and God Bless.
[...]But our soul continues to live. Not for an instant does it cease to exist. Our external, biological and earthly life ends with death, but the soul continues to live on. The soul is our very existence, the center of all our energies and our thoughts. The soul moves and gives life to the body. After its separation from the body it continues to live, to exist, to have awareness.[...]
~ Life After Death by St. John Maximovitch
[...]But when it leaves the body, the soul finds itself among other spirits, good and bad. Usually it inclines toward those which are more akin to it in spirit, and if while in the body it was under the influence of certain ones, it will remain in dependence upon them when it leaves the body, however unpleasant they may turn out to be upon encountering them.
For the course of two days the soul enjoys relative freedom and can visit places on earth which were dear to it, but on the third day it moves into other spheres. At this time (the third day), it passes through legions of evil spirits which obstruct its path and accuse it of various sins, to which they themselves had tempted it.[...]
~Life After Death by St. John Maximovitch
If the soul has not 'enough' good deeds or repent for its sins, then the demons drag the soul to hell... It sounds 'dramatic', I can smell you're already thinking this by now...!
[...]When the soul dies, on the third day it is carried by angels towards Heaven. On that way, they must go past 20 aerial toll-houses, which are huge groups of demons arranged according to specific kinds of sins. When a soul accompanied by angels gets to a toll-house, demons that tempted that soul during her life approach and accuse it for sins. The sins that are written on "papers" of demons have to be "payed for" by the person's good deeds in life, such as prayer, fasting, asceticism, doing works of mercy, etc.
According to Hagiographies, and the accounts of saints that have passed the aerial toll-houses, and talked about it in their appearances to various holy man, the demon often accuse the soul of sins that they tempted her with, but it didn't comply with, of sins that she repented for, and in that cases one of the angels, the one which was the person's guardian angel, speaks for the person, saying that those are lies, and that payment is not necessary, taking the soul to the next toll-house.
If a persons has sins that it didn't repent for, and does not have enough good deeds to pay them off, the demons of that toll-house grab him, and take him to hell.[...]And this one as well:
[..]According to various revelations there are twenty such obstacles, the so-called "toll-houses," at each of which one or another form of sin is tested; after passing through one the soul comes upon the next one, and only after successfully passing through all of them can the soul continue its path without being immediately cast into Gehenna*. How terrible these demons and their toll-houses are may be seen in the fact that Mother of God Herself, when informed by the Archangel Gabriel of Her approaching death, answering her prayer, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself appeared from heaven to receive the soul of His Most Pure Mother and conduct it to heaven. Terrible indeed is the third day for the soul of the departed, and for this reason it especially needs prayers then for itself.[...]
~Life After Death by St. John Maximovitch
(* Gehenna is cited in the New Testament and in early Christian writing to represent the final place where the wicked will be punished or destroyed after resurrection.)
It is also very interesting to read what the Orthodox tradition has to say about the "toll-houses"... But if you think about it, all these 20 toll-houses are things we were taught in life to not do... Here it is:
- On the first aerial toll-house, the soul is questioned about the sins of the tongue, such as- empty words, dirty talk, insulting people, ridicule, singing worldly songs, too much or loud laughter(*), and similar sins
- The second is the toll-house of lies- besides plain lying also- braking oaths, braking vows given to God, taking God's name in vain, hiding sins during confession, and similar
- The third is the toll-house of slander- judging, humiliating, embarrassing, mocking and laughing at people, and similar
- The fourth is the toll-house of gluttony- overeating, drunkenness, eating between meals, eating without prayer, not holding fasts, choosing tasty over plain food(*), eating when not hungry(*), and similar
- The fifth is the toll-house of laziness- where the soul is questioned about every day and hour spent in laziness, neglect of serving God, of prayer, and missing Church services, and also not earning money by honest and hard word, not working as much as you are paid, and all similar sins
- The sixth toll-house is the toll-house of theft- stealing, robbery, whether small, big, light, violent, public, hidden
- The seventh is the toll-house of covetousness- love of riches and goods, not giving to charity, and similar
- The eight is the toll-house of usury, and also loan-sharking, overpricing, and similar
- The ninth is the toll-house of injustice- being unjust, especially in judicial affairs, accepting or giving bribes, dishonest trading and business, using false measures, and similar
- The tenth is the toll-house of envy
- The eleventh is the toll-house of pride- vanity, self-will, boasting, not honoring parents and civil authorities, insubordination, disobedience, and similar
- The twelve is the toll-house of anger and rage
- The thirteenth is the toll-house of remembering evil- hatred, holding a grudge, and revenge
- The fourteenth is the toll-house of murder- not just plain murder, but also wounding, maiming, hitting, pushing- generally injuring people
- The fifteenth is the toll-house of magic- divination, conjuring demons, making poison, all superstitions, and similar
- The sixteenth is the toll-house of lust- fornication, unclean thoughts, lustful looks, unchaste touches
- The seventeenth is the toll-house of adultery
- The eighteenth is the toll-house of sodomy- bestiality, homosexuality, incest, masturbation(*), and all other unnatural sins
- The nineteenth is the toll-house of heresy- rejecting any part of Orthodox faith, wrongly interpreting it, apostasy, blasphemy, and all similar sins
- The last, twentieth toll-house is the toll-house of unmercifulness, failing to show mercy and charity to people, and being cruel in any way
(*)"loud laughter"=I am not sure why it would be considered a sin to laugh loud though. hopefully there's someone out there who can answer this question
(*)choosing tasty over plain food=same, it troubles me why it would be a sin
(*)eating when not hungry=I think it's considered a sin because, eating when not hungry defeats the whole purpose of feeding ourselves. Fueling our body with enough energy and vitamins it needs to survive and function properly instead of feeding ourselves to death just for the pleasure of it. It's a sin because eating when not hungry makes us be 'slaves of our flesh' when we should abstain from all kinds of passions.
(*)masturbation=I've heard it thousands times that is is a sin, but I still can't understand completely why. When a 10 year old boy masturbates for the first time, because his hormones urged him to do so, he commits a sin...? But isn't it natural? I understand why the case of one obsessing with masturbation (which again makes him/her a "slave of our flesh", servant of our humanly passions) is considered a sin, but if we take the example of the 10 year old I brought up, then I still don't fully get it... Help, someone...?
After reading all these, one might wonder... Alright, I just read everything, but my grandma/mother/brother/friend/beloved one has departed and I don't think there's much I can do... I was only reminded to live 'accordingly' so that to avoid being 'tortured by the demons when I pass away"... What is left for us to do back here for the ones who passed away anyways? But the rest 37 days are crucial as well, according to the orthodox tradition, since the soul wanders around for 40 days...
[...]Then, having successfully passed through the toll-houses and bowed down before God, the soul for the course of 37 more days visits the heavenly habitations and the abysses of hell, not knowing yet where it will remain, and only on the fortieth day is its place appointed until the resurrection of the dead. Some souls find themselves (after the forty days) in a condition of foretasting eternal joy and blessedness, and others in fear of the eternal torments which will come in full after the Last Judgment. Until then changes are possible in the condition of souls, especially through offering for them the Bloodless Sacrifice (commemoration at the Liturgy), and likewise by other prayers.[...]
Our soul continues to live on. Its the center of all our energies and thoughts, its the center of our very existence. After the separation from the body, our soul continues to live, to exist, to have awareness.
Let us take care for those who have departed into the other world before us, in order to do for them all that we can, remembering that "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."*If you wish to read the whole article on Life after Death click here.

Goodby Grandma. May you rest in peace.
March 17th at 11am, my grandma passed away :"(
I loved her so much.
I feel so guilty for not going to see her last year.
We spoke on the phone 5 days before she passed away...She told me "I love you and God bless" (S'agapo, o theos mazi su).
I grew up with her, like a mother on my side she was.
She taught me so many things.
I loved her dearly. She was a strong woman, proud, happy. Head of her family. May God give me the strength to become a great grandmother like her one day.
Please dear Lord, forgive her sins, rest her soul. May she live in peace forever.
Please dear Lord give my grandpa strength to not leave us yet. Give my family strength and courage and patience to take care of him, to keep him company, to not abandon him, to not leave him alone.

Let us pray: We commend our grandma Chionitsa to you, Lord.
Now that she has passed from this life,
may she live on in Your presence.

Human beings are Social Beings, by nature.
Today was so beautiful and sunny outside!! Not cold, not windy, not too hot, just right! So I met up with my friend and we went for a coffee at Second cup downtown. So we sit down and I start updating her on some of my weekend stories... And a lady at the table next to us, hears me saying "Haiti" and says to us "Wow, you said Haiti, did you say you know people from Haiti, I am sorry to interrupt...!??". Or something of that nature, I cant remember exactly what she said. Anyways... Long story short, we started off by talking about Haiti and its people and we ended up talking about our lives, her job, her kids, etc...
She got very emotional about Haiti... My friend and I couldn't believe how some people can be so compassionate... And the lady had no friends whatsoever from Haiti, she was just simply feeling for them cause of what they have been going through after the huge earthquake which devastated them... We ended up talking for about 30 minutes or even longer.... She told us so many stories... About her life, how she met her husband, stories about her daughters, what her job is really all about and so many other things....
She was (well, still is) such a positive woman. So much energy this woman has! So alive! Many people would say "ohhh wow that WAS random" or would make fun of her.... Accept positive energy in your life people. Be happy when other people share with you their happiness, their experience, their dreams which they turned into reality. Be happy and smile at people who found the courage to share a smile with you today, to come and talk to you! Its not "random", it's not "weird". according to Aristotle, it's healthy, it's in our human nature to want to socialize!
God Bless that woman for being so alive and happy and positive. God Bless the people who are energetic and excited about life and their surroundings!
So.... Today I had a great day.... After meeting with my friend at the coffee place and after exchanging e-mails with the lady I mentioned above, my friend and I decided to go to the Museum of Fine Arts. We didn't take the metro, because it was so beautiful outside, so we walked and it was simply great! Here is a picture I took on our way to the museum.

Memories of childhood
So I lived my life alone, without anyone that I could really talk to, until I had an accident with my plane in the Desert of Sahara, six years ago. Something was broken in my engine. And as I had with me neither a mechanic nor any passengers, I set myself to attempt the difficult repairs all alone. It was a question of life or death for me: I had scarcely enough drinking water to last a week. The first night, then, I went to sleep on the sand, a thousand miles from any human habitation. I was more isolated than a shipwrecked sailor on a raft in the middle of the ocean. Thus you can imagine my amazement, at sunrise, when I was awakened by an odd little voice. It said:
"If you please — draw me a sheep!"
"What!"
"Draw me a sheep!"
"Possibly the most beautiful book of the twentieth century, the Little Prince will appeal to the hearts of adults and children alike. It tells the story of a little prince, who falls to earth from a star, and of the airman, stranded in the desert by the crash of his place, who seeks to understand the prince's secret. The premise is simple and the story simply told, and yet Saint-Exupery creates a tale that is full of poignancy and hope.
As the little prince journeys the planets around his own home, Asteroid B612, he encounters a variety of individuals: the Conceited Man, the King, the Accountant, the Drunkard, the Geographer and the Lamplighter. Each one becomes a parable of human nature: or rather, the nature of adults. The Little Prince is a story about childhood, mortality (made all the more poignant by the fact that Saint-Exupery died in action in WW2, the year after the book's publication), friendship, love, hope and the magic in our lives that we are at risk of losing as we grow older. For me it held enormous personal emotional value.
For a so-called 'children's book,' this is one that will live with you for the rest of your life."
(cribbed from Amazon)
I started looking for the Little Prince book, but surprise surprise I don't have it anymore...! It's 11pm right now but I am having this strong desire to re-read the book that changed my way of thinking.... So for all of you who want to read the Little Prince and for some reason, either because you don't have the time or money to buy/borrow it or simply because you couldn't find it, here is a link where you can read it online (yayy). Enjoy!

When looking sick looks beautiful
This is a MUST see for the fake beauty ideal/standard the media is selling us.

"I am really disgusted with Ralph Lauren not just for the school yard bully approach to criticism, but the photo-shopped image is really misogynist and I am not the kind of woman that is constantly beating that drum, but now SKINNY is not ....enough? We... need to lose our ribs and internal organs to be attractive? The girl looks sickly. We wonder how our daughters get such poor images of themselves when this is what company's find acceptable"
So I was listening to the Radio a few weeks ago and the reporter was talking about Ralph Lauren and his new model and a front page of a magazine with this model... Then I heard about a blog that posted some hardcore criticism on what the image of the magazine depicts and Ralph Lauren himself and how he tried to close the blog's "mouth".... Too bad for him Canadian Laws allow freedom of web-speech (if that even exists). I posted the same comment with a link from that blog and the incident on a social website I follow and I am re-posting it here as well... Just go ahead...click the link and read the blog article... Lets see what your reaction would be... :P

Goofy Goober (<---yes I am a link, click on me)
"So I have this skrit... purple and gray horizontal stripes. I love it. I used to love it, anyways. It ties in the front, in the height of the belly. Very cute. It has two thin gray strings that tie in the front and keep some portion of the skirt hanging over them so that they dont show. The skirt is elastic and can stretch a lot but is really tight.
So I wear it one day to go to my friend's house. On my way I think of stopping at the grocery store to get some yogurt for me and fmy riend. Oh yeah we love yogurt. Instead of devouring ice-cream we made this deal to buy yogurt instead. And it works.
So back in my story. I am walking towards the grocery store. I walk up the zillions of stairs of the complex where the grocery store is. I push the door to open. I hold it with my left hand to facilitate the people behind me. I keep walking straight till I reach the entrance of the grocery store. I smile at the security guard who kept on starring at me since I was in the hallway holding the door. "It must be my cute skirt" I think to myself, "cause it makes my long tanned legs look really sexy. And hello, Ive always had guys starring at me wherever I go, so...get over it girl".
Not to sound cocky or anything, but its sort of true. I am taller than the average, have long hair, long legs, cute face, cute smile, strong upper body. No I dont look like a model cause if I did, I wouldnt have time to blog right now. I am an above average looking girl, "a big cute person" its how my afro-american guyfriend calls me.
So yeah, a security guard is starring like a dog, no big dealeeo. I keep on walking down the aisle, I pass the candy section, the can and oil section, ("why is this old guy with his wife and kid on the side looking at me"), now its the dry food section, the clothing section (where I should have stopped) and now I am on my way to the fresh food section. "What is wrong with these people, this girl was starring as if she never saw a tall person before".
Yeah, I get that wherever I am: in the metro, bookstore, at the doctors office, in the grocery store. On the left I see meat and fishhhh... on the right ...milk and butter... and an old creepy beer-belly guy whose eyes are stuck on my private lower area. And oh! finally! here is the dairy section. I make four big steps and I am right infront of the fridge with all the yogurts. Heaven!
I am taking my time. I want to choose the best-tasting, yet low-calory and low-price ones. This should be fun. I start by taking a quick look at the tabs with the price. $6,99 for 12x100gr, $4,75 for 1x750gr, $3,59 for 2x250gr...... I hold each one of the products in my hands to check for the fat, calories, sodium, vitamins... The old creeper with the beer stomach is still standing right next to me and it seems that he hasnt taken his eyes off my lower private area.
"What the heck. Hes in a damn grocery store what is wrong with all these pervs nowadays" I think to my self while giving him the dirtiest look Ive ever given to a person. I keep on starring back while having my left eyebrow up and my right hand holding my waist. "Oh yeeeeah you pig, you feel embarrassed now??" I am thinking. The guy turns around obviously annoyed. I turn around too. I need to go back to my little yogurt research but "aaghhh I just cant believe how some people can be! He is freaking 80 years old, he probably has a wife, kids, grandkids, a dog and a cat and its possible he has great-grandkids as well"
"And he has the balls (he probably cant feel them anymore) to stare at a female who probably has the same age as his grandchildren. Wow!". So I am trying to find the yogurt I was holding before the pervert annoyed me. Where did I leave it? Ah here it is! I reach down to get it but my eyes catch something else, much more interesting: my crotch which is hanging out of my skirt! No wonder why I thought I was getting thaaat many people starring at me today. (read the following with sarcasm:) How sexy and attractive they must have thought I was eh..! All people who saw me wandering down the... candy, can and oil, dry food and clothing section. Oh my goooodness where do I go to hide, I dont want these yogurts anymore, I want my dignity back!!!
ps. I want to thank that old creepy beer-belly grandpa who tried to give a hint of what was going on down there. Thanks again, old creepy guy.

Introduction: The story of a She and a He
-Hey! Whats up! Long time no see!
-I know eh!?? How are you...? Where have you been??
-Aghh you know..here and there... How are things going on your side?
-Nah..the usual, school, boyfriend, blah blah. But heyy...what about you?? We used to talk remember? Where have you been?
-Aghh... i was a student in Grayrain Province remember? But you know... money was an issue.. I was so stressed... Not able to eat properly, like couldn't afford to even go for normal weekly groceries... Stressed about appearance.. Stressed that I had nothing to wear sometimessss! and ha...you know how that is when you are young and pretty and you used to receive a certain type of comments about your style etc..
So...had some type of social stress as well... Aghh not able to socialize with friends properly... "Cant come have dinner tonight with you guys, I am busy I have to study!!" Bullllllshit...Ending up spending hours on the internet to find a way to earn money instead of studying... Losing any interest for school cause your life (social, personal) isnt the same anymore...
Aghhh money.. And then you tell yourself... Mm i am gonna use my credit card to go out with my friends, so that I don't have to bail out AGAIN, just once, only once. And then...once becomes twice..and then twice becomes everyday and you end up using money that was never yours through that plastic "miracle" called credit card.
And a month a later you receive the "letter". Ooooh yeah.. THE letter. Ouffff you dont even wanna open it. You place it on your desk, telling yourself you will open it when youre less stressed. But..you dont even HAVE to open it. Cause you know whats in it. But you keep on fooling yourself that it doesn't exist. Then when the time comes... All your debit account has been emptied. And not because you've spent it. But because that plastic miracle sucked it all up, without giving you a notice off course. And why would it? You borrowed "its" money, when you knew you weren't able to pay it back, not anytime soon anyways.
And then you have no money no chocho like my Haitian friend used to say... Cause whenever you deposit $ in your debit account, the plastic miracle is authorized to eat it up. But...you dont know that.
And there comes the time to pay your rent... But.."zero" has now become your new best friend. You see it everywhere, in your bank accounts, in your pockets, in your purse, even in your dreams. Mmm yeah, now you are able to focus and study. You are soo deeply motivated to focus and do well at school. So you borrow from your friends. And you do the mistake to borrow a looot. Cause they offered a lot. Cause they are your friends. And they trust you.
And the time passes... You decide that you have to leave the Grayrain province cause university cant accept you with no money and ...low grades. It doesnt care if the no money situation you were in caused you to not study and put you in an even more no money situation plus debt. You take your pride and start for the Promising Province.
You struggle. You stay at a hostel at first. You try to find a job and an apartment at the same time. No income flowing, but lots of expenses coming out of your pocket...Uhmmm let me rephrase that: your mommas pocket. You find an apartment.. Oufff what a relief. You get all happy and excited and kind of tell yourself you need a break from stress... Bills and expenses yeah are still running... Still chasing your ass.
So you decide to try and find a job. Lots and lots of applications. Ohhhhh yeah babaaay keep them flowwwwing. TOns of them. Millions. Zillions, Gazillions. But hey....you get a few offers, but you quickly realize the only job offers you got were either scams or you just didnt qualify at the end. What a luck. Mmmm not luck so much, I would say. So..... what do you do? Wait and wait, even decide to go to a local library to borrow resume books to update your resume. You do that. Spend nights working on your new CV. You re-apply. No-thi-ng.
Anddd then....there goes the bus strike! Ohhh yeah, cause bus drivers of the promising city of the promising province decide they dont get paid enough..sooo lets do a bus strike. No buses. No way you can go to any interviews! Great. A week goes by and the whole promising city is in the merci of the bus strike. A second week goes by. And a third one. A whole month. And another week. And another.
Till you get so fed up of waiting that you decide to contact your friends from the Diverse Province to help you move your bootay out of 'Promising' province. And it happens. And you spend two weekends back and forth promising and diverse provinces trying to find a new apartment, a new life. And you do. And everything seems all shiny and glittery at the beginning. You are happy, excited for another new beginning you've made, your way up to your goal mountain seems a little bit easier now.
And there it begins. It feels safer, warmer. But you've lost everything. All the comfort of your well-known zone, your friends, the people you used to see everyday. You're all alone. Mmmm not exactly, you have one person by your side. But that person is always there for you. For the good and bad. So strange.... An you met like a raindrop meets the ground after a morning shower and then disappears. With the exception that you didn't disappear, you stayed there, kept that 'wetness' right there in the soil.
And who would know...that you would now see that person every day. Which is the beginning of my story my dear friend...
-Wow...seems like a lot happened since the last time I saw you....Its sad to not be around you anymore you know... We used to have such a good time together! We were fooling around so much, talked about anything and nothing.... I really miss you. I miss your friendship.
-Aghhh I miss you too...! Hey lets just stop all this drama cause I am really getting my eyes all teared up and with this cheap mothertrucking mascara I bought, I cant afford to cry.

-Wow, you haven't changed a single bit. All making me laugh with your fake New Orleans accent... Oh well.. anyways, oopss its 30' past 1! I gotta go, my lunch break is already over!!
-Alright then, Oh my it was sooo good to see you! Promise we will "bump on to each other" again on the same spot, tomorrow??
-Haha sounds like a random encounter to me! Chiao!!
-I know eh!?? How are you...? Where have you been??

Love. Do we really know what it means?
"Call me when you get there! Love you!" ...
How many of us, haven't finished a phonecall saying 'I love you' to the person at the end of the other line...? But is it really that simple... Is it actually that simple to love someone, and/or to be loved by someone? Is it that simple to maintain love? To keep it up above anything else? Meaning: selfishness, ego, personal benefit, jealousy, anger, self-interest, lying? For me, love doesnt exist if is kept in a lower level than all the above. Is this easy...is it even possible? ...or am I just "on crack" and thinking non sense?

More to come, soon :)
Conversation about Long Distance
"But I like him.......and he seems that likes me too". So? There's no future with him.... You're going away for the summer, he's staying here.... He'll eventually forget you and all about you guys....
"No....but...he's not like that. No, no I don't think he's like that. He says he can wait. He says its the first time a woman means so much to him". Maybe I don't know men that much, but I know a lot when it comes to people in general...so to me its more likely that he's just excited now. He is IN love, but its not possible for him to LOVE you, that fast.... or is it?
You met in his city.... you both created a good connection... But you had to leave... you kept in touch by the internet.... He came to see you... yeah, I know 15 hours drive... then Christmas, yeah he kept in touch, you did too.... Then you went to see him.... Now you are away from each other again... Isn't it a little bit too early to think that he really means it when he says he loves you?
No, no don't take me wrong, I don't mean to sound mean...I am not saying he's lying... I am saying that distance sweetens everything, distance makes
everything look perfect...distance creates in our head this perfect person....which is made only of the good times you had together... You're not able to have bad times together though...Because each time you see each other, is so little, you don't have time to fight, you only have time to taste each others love, affection and existence next you... So this perfect person is been stuck in your head...
And then when the daily routine with this person comes.... Things will be different... more 'boring'... But that would be great, if you actually make it to spend your daily routine together. Now we're talking about a few steps behind this stage...
You still don't know what's gonna happen during the summer. If this is going to last... And then there are also all those girls looking for 'meat' during the summer... And he's great with women... He knows what to say... He knows how they think... Is it worth it, to go through this...? "But he said he doesn't care about the craziness of the summer.... He comes from a place where its summer all year long, its not a big deal for him.... He says he's willing to wait.... He says that good things are always hard to happen, and hard to maintain.... He says we're not gonna have distance as a problem for our whole lives...He says he's willing to wait...He scares me..."
Yeah, it looks more like "over-excitement" in my eyes. And based on what he has told you, this is the first time he feels that way... He's obviously way too positive about it, and thinks he'll feel this way forever, and makes promises to you...
You know the danger when people are too sure about their feelings and tell the other person about those feelings... The other person believes them.... and then when those feelings change, you end up being disappointed and you lose the world under your feet, because you didn't expect them to change, you believed in what they told you....and then you're devastated.... Am I being pessimistic or just realistic?
I dont know. I am just trying to help you. :( He loves you....and its obvious. :) You love him, and you keep it well hidden inside. Why? Because you're scared? Because I told you the bad side of the situation?
....And then people will judge you...For the difference of your skin....for the difference of your backgrounds. I know you don't care, I wouldn't care if I was you either.
But then here come the practical problems.... Lets say, you put aside all problems this 'falling in love' process might have, and hypothetically he does love you for sure, he is faithful for fact.. then what you guys have starts getting more serious. And from what he says.. he wants that 'serious' thing to happen between you and him. What about you? And lets say you do want it too. I am gonna go a little bit too far now, but i think you should also think about this one too... The kids... I am sure you want to have kids. How are they going to be raised....What language...What culture...? What beliefs? He's not very much into religion, you prefer your kids to be raised like this though? The kids? Your mom will not be able to understand him...She doesn't speak his language. You wont be able to understand his mom, you dont speak her language... And where are you gonna raise your kids? His country? Your country? Am I frustrating you?
I am sorry, I just want to help you, I just want to 'open your eyes', to help you not go blind
because of love....Because I am scared that something bad can happen to you and screw up your life.... And we've talked about this, you don't want this. You don't want to continue living the same path some of your relatives took in life.... You don't want your kids to live the way you lived your life, without a male figure... You need to make good choices... And I am here to help you.
"How though....". I don't know, I am not an expert. I am just trying to make you look at all sides of the situation... The obvious ones, and the hidden ones...
I think I should stop thinking.... "I think so too.....".

And I am here to help you."How though....". I don't know, I am not an expert. I am just trying to make you look at all sides of the situation... The obvious ones, and the hidden ones...
I think I should stop thinking.... "I think so too.....".

#Today's Topic: World's fastest things
What is the world's fastest airplane?
The X-43 reached Mach 9.8 but it was an unmanned flight. The X-15 reached Mach 6.72, but it is a rocket powered aircraft. The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, which made it's first flight on December 22, 1964, is still considered to be the world's fastest airplane reaching Mach 3.2 or 2,193.167 MPH in July 1976.The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird holds many speed records including flying from New York to London, covering 3,461.53 miles in 1 hour 54 minutes and 56.4 seconds, averaging 1,806.95 MPH.
What was the world's fastest boat?
The first water speed record was recorded on September 19, 1919 when Casey Baldwin throttled his Hydrodome IV up to a watery 70.86 MPH. The current world's fastest boat is the Spirit of Australia which Ken Warby managed to get up to 317.60 MPH or 511.13 KM/H at Blowering Dam in New South Wales, Australia on October 08, 1978.
What is the world's fastest bird?
The world's fastest bird is also the world's fastest animal on our planet. When the Peregrine Falcon spots prey it goes into a controlled dive easily reaching speed of 200 MPH or 320 KM/H.The fastest speed the Peregrine Falcon reached ever recorded was an amazing 242.3 MPH or 390 KM/H.
What is the world's fastest car?Ever since the car was invented people wanted to go fast which soon enough resulted in the competition for the land speed record. Back on December 18, 1898 Frenchman Achères, Yvelines set the first benchmark for the land speed record taking his electric Jeantaud Duc up to a head turning 39.24 MPH.The current fastest car is the Thrust SSC which was driven by Andy Green for Richard Noble at the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. In October 1997 Andy Green took the Thrust SSC up to an ear deafening Mach 1.02, which is 763.035 MPH of 1227.94 KM/H.
What is the world's fastest computer?Apparently the world's fastest computer is your brain, but with some of the people we know we really question that claim. Omitting the brain, and being familiar with computers, we know that this page will probably be outdated by the time it loads on your computer, but as of 5:59 AM PST on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 the world's fastest computer is the Blue Gene/L.The Blue Gene/L was developed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and can perform at up to 360 teraflops with a sustained performance of 280.6 teraflops.Just to give you an idea how fast that is, the XBOX 360 performs at about 1 teraflop which is 1 trillion calculations per second.

What is the world's fastest fish?
The world's fastest fish can be found throughout all the oceans of the world. The world's fastest fish has been clocked at speeds over 68 MPH, which is quite a feat for a fish weighing up to 200 pounds. The world's fastest fish is no other than the sailfish.
What is the world's fastest helicopter?Keep in mind that the maximum speed a rotor helicopter can reach, in theory, before spinning out of control is just over 250 miles per hour. Now that you know that, at an European air show on August 6, 1986 a Westland Lynx ZB500, that was slightly modified, reached a speed of 249.1 miles per hour or 400.8 km/h, making it the world's fastest helicopter.
Who is the world's fastest man?
The 100 meter dash is the race that determines the world's fastest man as it did in May 2006 when American Justin Gatlin posted 9.76 seconds, breaking the current record by 0.01 seconds and giving him the title of the world's fastest man. Unfortunately for Justin Gatlin his reign as the world's fastest man was short lived as there was a scoring error and his time should have been rounded up to the nearest 1/1000 of a second instead of down as it was thus his time was adjusted to 9.77 seconds.Justin Gatlin now shares the title of world's fastest man with Jamaican Asafa Powell who has also run a 9.77 second 100 meters.
What is the world's fastest motorcycle? If you enjoy seeing motorcycles go really fast make sure you don't miss the annual BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. ?Did you know? [Today: Culture & People]
[Thoughts…]
When I surf on the internet I like checking websites that have something clever to offer, that combine entertainment with education. I usually have tons of questions about life and the world in general and I like jotting them down in my own little notebook before I go to bed… My questions and interests vary from year to year and mood to mood. Basically the concept that I follow is to get to learn as many things as you can in this life… I believe that knowledge and the thirst for knowledge is what keeps people motivated and goal-oriented: acquiring knowledge assists you improve your mental, social and problem-solving skills… As an International Relations student I would say that, any kind of information that comes in your way, should be welcomed and received…
"Knowledge is an organized body of information, or the comprehension and understanding consequent on having acquired and organized a body of facts"
"Wisdom is a knowledge of people, life, and conduct, with the facts so thoroughly assimilated as to have produced sagacity, judgment, and insight..."

1) Why people in warm climates wear black clothes?
[The reason why I wanted to know...] We know that black color absorbs more heat than any other color does. In fact, white is the color ("which combines all other colors" as my mom* used to say :P ) However, I realized that in most warm-climate countries, people traditionally wear black clothes and especially, long black clothes. But what is the logic behind of that?
[The conclusion of my little research] Its not hard to understand that big clothes allow and facilitate the circulation of air underneath. But what I discovered after reading a couple of articles, is that in the case of the black, big and…airy clothes, hot air (that is, in the warm climates) absorbs the airflow that is caused from walking, which while ascending up, it cools the person who wears the big-black clothes. What does this mean? The best self-air-conditioning clothes…! :P
*lol… my mom is a painter :P

?Did you know? [Today: Technology]
? Did you know? (personally…I didn’t!!!)
#Today's topic: Technology
1) Have they invented airbags for motorcycles?
Well... as crazy as it sounds... yes they have! I was talking one day to a friend whose best friend died in a motorcycle accident... It was very sad and so unfair because my friend's best friend was wearing a helmet. There has to be something to prevent motorcycle accidents. So I started wondering how we could prevent these accidents other than imposing huge fines for not wearing a helmet. Because helmets not always save a life. If you are wearing a helmet you have 96% chances to survive. But what about this 4%? And then I just realized, that the basic difference between a car (which is considered safer than a motorcycle) and a motorcycle is... the airbag!!
So I started searching online to see if there is any invention regarding... motorcycle airbags! Yes, I thought I was crazy at the moment. And that I would only be able to find the answer in science fiction novels..! But surprise surprise... Honda developed the world's first motorcycle airbag in 2006! The model is called "Honda Gold Wing" and is "[...] part of Honda's commitment to reduce accident related fatalities by 50% by 2010. This is not the first time Honda has developed new technology to make substantial improvements to rider safety[...]". Gold Wing carries a system which is consisted of an airbag, acceleration dectors that sense a potential collision and ECU, a unit that momentarily determines and confirms the collision (in order to activate the airbags). I find it amazing that innovations are being used for safety improvements!
However, there are many barriers in order for the company to design safety-improved models. For example, the engine must weight a lot in order for the motorcycle driver to avoid being ejected over the airbag and the motorcycle. But they invented a safer motorcycle at least...! The bad news is that its cost ranges from $24,349-$24,699... Which automatically makes a safer motorcycle "untouchable" for ordinary people with ordinary jobs. Hopefully we will be able to see more motorcycles of its kind in the future! (safer motorcycles that we would be able to afford). It took them more than 15 years of research and testing in order to invent Gold Wing... That means that they are only some steps away utill they find ways to make safer motorcycles affordable...! :)
By the way... I don't promote and/or advertise Honda! Honda is just the company who invented the motorcycle that answers my question: Motorcycle Airbags...do exist!

9 Things I Hate About People

9 Things I Hate About People
1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?
2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.
3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?
4. When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their asses!
5. When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.
6. People who ask "Can I ask you a question?".... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?
7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.
8. When people say "life is short". What the ef?? Life is the longest thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?
9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here?
